HELL CITY!!
Ok so two weekends ago Jenn, Jennifer, Stacey, and myself all went to the Hell City Tattoo Convention in Killumbus, OH. heh It was badass. There were awesome artists and tattoo artists everywhere!! I have been in a bit of a slump lately, but that place woke me up I think. It was incredible and I really want to get into the tattoo business, and just make art for a living. It would be glorious. Anyho Jenn took a bunch of pictures...so I stole them all from her :D Thanks Willy! We begin the journey to columbus, it was pretty early but I was freakishly awake.
We got to the hotel in pretty good time but we couldn't check in till later so we left our shit in the car and walked over to the adjoining hotel where Hell City was being held. It was like 10:30am and we couldn't get tickets till noon so we stopped by this little coffee shop and then went to a seminar about reinventing the tattoo by Guy Atchison who is a freaking amazing artist/tattoo artist.
MMMM....nothing like a chai latte in the morning....don't pay attention to my dumb faces in these pictures I don't know why it kept looking all weird lol

Hello awesome convention!
It was pretty packed, but not bad. There were tons of awesome people to look at.
So after being there for oh about an hour everyone I went with decided to get pierced...heh we are probably the only people who would go to a tattoo convention and just get piercings :P Not that I didn't really want a sweet tattoo...my poorness simply wouldn't allow it.
The pic is blurry but Jenn was in love with this baldy :) He is the one that pierced everyone but me. Cuz I found a place that was giving piercings for $30 instead of $80 heh...I'm cheap.
Jennifer and Jenn's Piercings, Jennifer got two dermals on her cheek and Jenn got one dermal on her chest. Pretty cool.
Ignore the ugly monkey face and focus upon the eyebrow awesomeness :D I'm really glad I got it done and I can hide it with my bangs at work.
heh oh yeah
After walking around and what not for awhile we retreated to the car to get lunch and then check in. I signed up for this art fusion thing. Basically there were 6 easels and 6 people (me being one of them) and we had 5 minutes to start a drawing with charcoal then every 3 minutes after that we switched and worked on the next easel for 2 hours. It was a lot of fun, a bit nerve racking right before hand but awesome after I got started.

Then we went downstairs and checked out the "Innerstate" room. Basically a bunch of famous tattoo artists were working on paintings around the edges of the room. There was a DJ and cool shit to buy to. Behold some greatness.
Shawn Barber OMG. I wanted to say hi but I couldn't...we saw Hannah Atchison from LA Ink too. Again I was too shy to annoy her but it's ok.
heh I chilled with Jon Clue for a good minute during the after party. He was a cool dude.
These guys were amazing. They were twins and they were working on a collaborative painting. It was my favorite one in the artist room. I bothered them a fair amount when I was drinking heh. They didn't seem annoyed tho so thats good.
We then went and had dinner foods and I got my drink on whilst hanging with Jenn in our room. Jennifer and Stacey were off being mentally molested by frat boys heh. Or something lol. They came back and I changed and we went down for after party goodness. Essentially you just walked around in the bar and the art room drinking it was awesome. I talked to like a gajillion people because thats how I get when I drink. I also managed to rip off part of my fingernail, accidentally walk in on some people having sex, saw a chick flash some dudes in the hallway, complimented and extremely hard core fellow ( who turned out to be nice), and almost got cut by an old mexican for making a "your mom" joke to him lol good times.

This is one of my favs of us :D plus we both had hair that I made in...heh I know what the new default for my Dreadlordz myspace is goin to be. I love my extension set.

yeah i'm a beast. It was goofy cuz like two people asked to take my picture during the afterparty. I thought it was weird since I really wasn't that dressed up.
That's all the pics we really have of the after party because Jenn didn't feel good and went to bed, and I don't really trust drunk me with a camera. It was a ton of fun with Jennifer and Stacey. I know I danced like a goofball in the "Innerstate" room for a good minute and bothered all the artists despite the "Do not disturb the artists" signs lol
NEXT DAY
We ended up not staying too too long on Sunday. We got up early and got free hotel breakfast. I was surprisingly not hung over. We took a few looks around the convention floor again, and into the artist room. I decided next year I want to get tattooed by Jo Harrison I think her name is. I'm not sure I have a card, but yeah she is fantastic. I hope she is there next year.
Another wall pic. Heh I met some suicide girls too! They really liked my shirt so i stood there and talked with them for a good minute. They were all very nice, and friendly. I bet I could be a suicide girl if I wanted to be naked in pictures heh...and if Chad didn't mind.

After more nonsense we went over to Angel's dudes house to chill with them for a bit. They were nice and it was a good time. Him and his roomates are all about some D&D they had a crazy game book library heh and enough dice to choke a camel...which is a lot of dice.
All in all super fantabulous. I can't wait to go back again....psch I can't wait to go to another convention of any kind really.
As a nerdy side note: Drew gave me his old headset so I am totally able to vent when I raid now yay :D I felt so out of the loop. Speaking of which I need to go do my dailies now.
As a different sort of side note: I am starting Dreadlordz back up soon. I am redesigning the logo and the website. Woo. Yay for fake hairs. and as a side note that has nothing to do with this one, I am drawing and painting a lot in hopes of getting a tattoo apprenticeship, and I might be applying to the Chicago Art Institute :D
